A native East Tennessean, Mr. Taylor was born and raised in Morristown, a
small close-knit middle class community. He attended elementary school
at Historic Rose School, now the Cultural Arts Center for the Morristown
area, and graduated from Morristown West High School.
He attended undergraduate at East Tennessee State University, in Johnson
City, where he was a proud member of their Varsity tennis team. He has
maintained a long and cherished bond with ETSU, serving on their
National Alumni Association Board of Directors, and as the Association’s
President for several years. Mr. Taylor entered law school at the University of Memphis and could not
have loved a law school or city more. Many of his closest life-long friends
and respected peers today, he met while attending law school in Memphis.
A multifaceted legal career that began in the law office of one of East
Tennessee's preeminent trial lawyers Gary Brewer, to litigating in the 4th
Judicial District Public Defender’s Office serving Jefferson, Cocke, Grainger
and Sevier counties, to a managing partner at the regional defense firm of
Wimberly & Lawson, Mr. Taylor is regarded today as one the most
prepared, accomplished and successful attorneys and litigators in East
Tennessee.

A native of Florida, Kathy McGaha moved to Morristown in 1984 and graduated from Morristown West High School. While her husband, Anthony, was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she earned her paralegal degree. After Anthony’s retirement from the United States Army, Kathy and her family returned to the Jefferson County area, where they now reside with their son, Jesse.
